Jacobo Echeverria Lozano, the big-legged kicker from Upper St. Clair, has found a college destination.

Echeverria Lozano is Big Ten-bound after making a verbal commitment to Purdue, which made him a scholarship offer about two weeks ago.

Spencer Porath, Purdue’s kicker this season, transferred to Notre Dame.

A two-time all-conference pick and one of the top kickers in the nation, Echeverria Lozano also held offers from Ohio State, Arkansas State, Army, Mercyhurst, Navy, Robert Morris and UCLA.

He made 17 of 18 field goals and 54 of 56 extra points this season as the Panthers (10-3) reached the WPIAL Class 5A semifinals.

His longest field goal was 42 yards, but he made a 47-yard attempt as a junior.

He was 101 for 103 on extra points for his prep career, and made 25 of 31 field goals.

Echeverria Lozano, who began the season as the No. 10 senior kicker in the country by Kohl’s Kicking Camps, averaged 64.1 yards on kickoffs, forcing touchbacks on 66 of 84 kicks. On 22 punts, he averaged 46.3 yards and placed seven inside the 20-yard line.
