The final Pittsburgh Basketball Club event this season is set for Saturday.

The PBC Hall of Fame Classic will take place at two sites with a total of nine district boys basketball games.

Here is the lineup at North Hills:

• Ellwood City against Carlynton at 11 a.m.

• Hopewell takes on Sto-Rox at 12:30 p.m.

• Penn Hills visits North Hills in the battle of the Indians at 2 p.m.

• Baldwin squares off with Mars at 3:30 p.m.

• Obama Academy goes up against Knoch at 5 p.m.

In the four games at Montour:

• South Fayette challenges Aliquippa at noon

• Central Valley faces Moon at 1:30 p.m.

• Gateway will battle Lincoln Park at 3 p.m.

• Ambridge visits Montour at 4:30 p.m.

The games scheduled for North Allegheny on Sunday afternoon have already been postponed due to the pending snowstorm.

One still on, another PPD

There were two intriguing girls basketball nonsection games slated for Saturday; one is still on while the other has been postponed ahead of the pending snowstorm.

Norwin, one of the top teams in Class 6A, heads to Cranberry to face on of the top girls hoops programs in Class 4A in North Catholic.

The Knights are 13-2 and have won three straight while the Trojans are 10-5 and have won eight of their last 10 games.

Tipoff is set for 1:30 p.m.

The cancelled game pitted one of the best in the WPIAL against District 10 with Blackhawk visiting Kennedy Catholic.

Both teams are ranked No. 1 in the latest Trib HSSN PIAA girls basketball rankings, the Cougars in Class 4A and the Golden Eagles in 2A.

Mat Sat

Days before districts around the state will begin their postseason duals with the boys team wrestling playoffs, several WPIAL teams are in skills-sharpening mode as they take part in several two-day wresting tournaments slated for Friday and Saturday outside the District 7 boundaries.

Two-days events include mat action at Grove City, Bedford and West Branch, while Saturday events are taking place in Brooke (W. Va.) and Sharon.
