Irwin Senior Activity Center, 310 Oak St., will have grocery bingo and the monthly birthday celebration Jan. 27. National Blueberry Pancake Day on Jan. 28 will feature breakfast for lunch. A healthy cooking demonstration will be at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 29. Registration for events and lunch required at least one day in advance. Donations are accepted for all activities. • Sage’s Army and STR Silver Pines Residential will host a free family movie night at 6 p.m. Jan. 28 at Sage’s Army Recovery Center, 6044 Lincoln Highway, Suite 400, Hempfield. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. The film will be “The Fantastic 4: First Steps.” Popcorn, pizza, beverages and snacks will be served. Details: 724-863-5433.

• Pa. Rep Jill Cooper will have an open house from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 29 at her Murrysville office, 3091 Carson Ave. Staff from the West­moreland County treasurer’s office will help with dog license applications. Checks will be accepted. Office staff will help owners apply for a dog license online with a credit card.

Veterans news

A veterans service officer will be available to discuss Veterans Administration benefits from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Donegal American Legion, 3812 Route 31, Donegal Township. Veterans, spouses and widows from all counties welcome. No appointment required. Details: Ron, 724-830-3532.
