The transgender athlete ban case being considered by the Supreme Court reminds me of a phrase I read while in undergraduate school. The phrase, as I recall, was intended to describe or detect a sense of humor or understanding the “absurd and incongruous.” It was drawn on the writings of Albert Camus and Ernst Cassirer.
In my opinion, the current case meets the understanding. It is a perfect example of over-intellectualizing a matter that nature has already answered. I realize there may be some biological or psychological conditions that defy nature, but these are of no major significance in numbers or impact that I’m aware of.
I am apathetic to individuals who experience transgenderism, but I do not believe that “trans law” rises to the level of superseding natural law in this case.
