Eric James scored 12 points, including the game-winning putback at the buzzer, to lead Obama Academy (10-6) to a 53-51 victory over Trib HSSN Class 4A No. 1 Knoch (15-3) on Saturday at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at North Hills.
Teegan Finucan scored 18 points and Liam Avon and Roman DeFelice each added 11 for the Knights (15-3), who saw a 14-game winning streak come to an end.
Baldwin 60, Mars 52 – Evan Golvash scored 16 points and Nico Macurac followed with 14 to power Baldwin (8-7) at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at North Hills. Ben Detisch scored 18 and Brady Brennan had 11 for Mars (9-9).
Cochranton 73, Laurel 48 – Walker Carroll and Brady Rynd each scored 23 points to lead Cochranton in a nonsection matchup. Luca Santini, Seth Gilmore and Adam Kuth each scored eight points to lead Laurel (11-7).
Elizabeth Forward 69, West Allegheny 60 – At North Hills in the PBC Hall of Fame Classic, Daniel Spence scored 27 points to lead Elizabeth Forward (10-7) to victory over West Allegheny (6-12). Junior Tyler Basic added 18 points to pass 1,000 points for his career. Donovan O’Connor and Josiah Johnson each scored 14 points for West Allegheny while Darcy St. Surin added 13 points and King Henke contributed 12.
Ellwood City 60, Carlynton 32 – Kaleb Servic scored 21 points and Aaron Lake added 18 points and 16 rebounds as Ellwood City (11-8) defeated Carlynton (5-12) at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at North Hills. Ishaga Barre totaled 10 points for Carlynton.
Greensburg Central Catholic 71, California 40 – Tommy Dlugos had 16 points and Lucca Denis had 14 as Greensburg Central Catholic (4-13, 4-6) beat California (0-17, 0-10) in Section 1-2A play. Carson Kramer added 13 points in the win while Ben Ziolecki led California with 10 points.
Hopewell 62, Sto-Rox 47 – James “Booboo” Armstrong scored 25 points to lead Hopewell (11-7) past Sto-Rox (5-11) at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at North Hills. Justin Shegog added 16 points while Brody Rock chipped in 11. Marcus Griffin’s 12 points paced Sto-Rox.
Moon 65, Central Valley 51 – Jackson Bauman scored 20 points as Moon (14-3) beat Central Valley (12-5) at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic at Montour. A.J. Buford added 16 points for Moon while Wyatt Clark and Ryan Conti each scored 13 points for Central Valley.
North Hills 76, Penn Hills 71 – At North Hills, Nathan Schanbacher sank five 3-pointers and totaled 34 points while Jackson Long scored 30 points as North Hills (12-6) beat Penn Hills (11-6) at the PBC Hall of Fame Classic. Calix Clark led Penn Hills, which had won six straight, with 28 points. Amon Hawthorne recorded 23 points and six assists.
Sewickley Academy 67, Peters Township 44 – Mamadou Kane scored 20 points and Lucas Grimsley put up 12 to lead Class 2A No. 1 Sewickley Academy (15-0) to a nonsection win over Class 5A Peters Township (12-4)

Bethel Park 54, Avonworth 18 – Naiya Turner had 10 points as Bethel Park (11-6) downed Avonworth (8-9) in a nonsection game.
Central Valley 61, New Castle 13 – Emma Brown scored 16 points and Caroline Spirnak and Ashley Bible each added 15 for Central Valley (4-12) in a nonsection win over New Castle (0-18).
North Catholic 53, Norwin 49 – In a nonsection game, Brady Wehner had 15 points and Sam Weir hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points as Trib HSSN Class 4A No. 3 North Catholic (11-5) beat Class 6A No. 1 Norwin (13-3). Lauren Reitz added 11 points for North Catholic. Giuliana Giannikis scored 19 points and had five 3-pointers to lead Norwin while Aubrey Graney added 12 points and Liz Yarosik contributed 10.
Peters Township 48, Southern Garrett (MD) 44 – Bri Morreale scored 14 points and Maddyn Mehl added 12 to lead Peters Township (8-9) to a nonsection win. Jayden Weaver scored 14 and Emelee Parks had 13 for Southern Garrett.
Serra Catholic 52, Penn Hills 44 – Lexi Pearce scored 14 points to lead four players in double figures for Serra Catholic (11-5) in a nonsection win. Bella Dumbroski added 13 and Abby Genes and Nikki Sfanos each had 10 for the Eagles. Harmony McLean scored 22 and Malaya Middleton added 15 for Penn Hills (8-9).
West Allegheny 46, Upper St. Clair 40 – Emma Ruperto scored 15 points to lead West Allegheny (13-4) to the nonsection win against Upper St. Clair (8-9). Kenzie Pope tallied 11 points for Upper St. Clair and Audbrey Brown added 10 points.
Wrestling
Fred Bell tournament – Canon-McMillan teammates Lee Dreshman and Collier Hartman took titles at Grove City. In the finals, Dreshman (107) beat Union City’s Van Ward, 16-4, and Hartman (139) defeated Cranberry’s Dalton Wenner, 14-5.
West Mifflin’s Cooper Dietz, Kiski Area’s Mario Hutcherson and Belle Vernon’s Elijah Brown also topped the podium. Dietz (160) beat Slippery Rock’s Zac Turberville, 10-3. Hutchersonrolled past Southwestern’s Tavio Hoose, 16-4. Brown (215) won when Kiski Area’s Cooper Roscosky defaulted due to injury.
Fred Ferguson Classic – Mars teammates Parker Joseph and Olympic Serrao won titles in Brooke, W. Va. Joseph (132) won by tech fall over Dorian Haddad of Steubenville, Ohio, 18-0. Serrao (138) majored Julius Mullins of Steubenville, 9-1.
Four other WPIAL wrestlers also won titles. Seneca Valley’s Riley Smith (106) pinned Wheeling Park’s Brian Flanegin. North Catholic’s Michael Pierro (120) majored Seneca Valley’s Jaxon Cairns, 13-2. Bethel Park’s Ian Bucheli (150) won when Fox Chapel’s Andrew Kratsa forfeited. Fox Chapel’s Calyx Kimbrough (157) won by major decision over Seneca Valley’s Dean Sauers, 15-4.
Thomas Automotive Classic – Three WPIAL wrestlers – Beth-Center’s Mason Wright, Frazier’s Jonah Erdely and West Greene’s Colin Whyte – won titles in Bedford. Wright (133) majored Central Cambria’s Hadyn Strittmatter, 9-1, in the finals Erdely (152) beat Greenville’s Kaysom Mataria, 4-2. Whyte (285) handled Central’s Blair Miller, 5-1.
Ultimate Warrior – Derry teammates Mason Keesecker, Patrick Bulger and Mason Horwat topped the podium in the tournament at West Branch. Keesecker took a 21-6 tech fall over St. Marys’ Max Jovenetti at 107 pounds, Bulger blanked Southern Columbia’s Rowen Humphrey, 6-0, at 114, and Horwat beat Johnsonburg’s Rocco Allegretto, 10-4, at 172.
