Annual bird count planned in Harrison Hills Park

Friends of Harrison Hills Park will sponsor a Great Backyard Bird Count Feb. 14 at the park, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

The event engages bird watches of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Rain or shine. To participate, stop in from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the park Environmental Learning Center. Observers can stay inside the center or take a short hike at 10:30 a.m. or noon with a park ranger to view the birds. Stay for as little as 15 minutes or the entire time. No reservations are required.

Leechburg to be featured on PCN TV

The Pennsylvania Cable Network channel will air a program about Leechburg at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

The History & Culture program will highlight the Leechburg Area Museum & Historical Society and artist the late Peter Besharo and his artwork.


Chicken Parm on the menu at free dinner

First Presbyterian Church of Tarentum will host a free dine-in community dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 913 Lock St.
