A popular women’s shop is leaving its storefront in Tarentum.

Brick House Chic Boutique along East Fourth Avenue posted the announcement to Facebook, saying “We didn’t want to move, but it’s beyond our control. I’m hoping we find a wonderful new home.”

The store’s last day is Feb. 5.

Opened in 2024 by cousins Anna Mayhood and Kristen Farringer, the clothing and accessories shop caters exclusively to plus-sized women.

There’s a chance the store could remain in the borough or land not too far in a neighboring community.

“We are currently looking at all viable options in Tarentum and surrounding communities,” Farringer said. “The space must meet our needs as a boutique.”

Farringer and Mayhood, both Verona natives, said they launched the niche shopping experience after facing their own challenges finding trendy clothes in retail stores.

They were tired of shopping online, the pair said.

“We want to offer a shopping experience in a brick-and-mortar store where people can try stuff on and have fun picking their clothes,” Farringer, of Cheswick, said at the time.

A new location will be announced online.

“We love our Brick House family, and they are very important to us,” Farringer said. “Us leaving Tarentum isn’t goodbye, it’s just see ya soon somewhere else.”

The pair will continue with live shopping events Wednesdays on Facebook.
