Many, many awful things are happening in this country which frighten me severely.
I came to the U.S. in 1970 and always was proud to be part of this marvelous and rather unique way of self- governing. We had everything a person would want to live their lives as they wished according to our laws — freedom of speech, freedom to vote, freedom to travel. Now, we are in jeopardy of losing these freedoms little by little.
In Minnesota. ICE agents come in and shoot people, seemingly angered by their behavior. Who are we as a country to condone the horrible acts by these agents?
Are we in the business of shipping people to other countries and letting them do with them as they wish? I thought we were done with enslaving people, selling them to other countries? Are we that insensitive to the needs of others? Are we happy that we are citizens and they are not? Why do we let people who in most cases take care of our needs and wishes get punished in such horrid ways?
What is wrong with this picture we are presenting to the world? Are we letting an unstable president do as he wishes without consequence?
I think it is time to no longer be part of the “silent majority.” We cannot let a president who I believe is unstable, cruel and self-centered run our country into the ground. We must speak up now before it is too late!
Please, people, let us get up and do something! Don’t just stand there and watch!
