Library collecting handmade Valentines for local seniors
Community Library of Allegheny Valley is collecting handmade Valentine’s Day cards to be delivered to local senior citizens.
Residents are welcome to make a card with no glitter or candy at home or at the library and put it into a plastic sandwich bag. Each card should be in its own bag. Cards should be dropped off by Saturday to the library, 1522 Broadview Blvd., Natrona Heights.
Free chicken Parm dinner planned in Tarentum
First Presbyterian Church of Tarentum will host a free dine-in community dinner from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 913 Lock St.
The menu will include chicken Parmesan, pasta, green beans, salad, garlic bread and dessert. No reservations are required, and everyone is welcome. The dinner was rescheduled from Jan. 27 due to the heavy snowfall.
