Running backs coach Eddie Faulkner reportedly is headed to a division rival after seven seasons on the Pittsburgh Steelers staff.
Faulkner, 48, is expected to take the same job with the Baltimore Ravens under new coach Jesse Minter, according to NFL Network. Under Faulkner’s watch, the Steelers’ backfield tandem of Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell combined for 2,314 offensive yards and 16 touchdowns last season.
Gainwell earned Steelers MVP honors after making a team-best 73 receptions. Warren had the best rushing season of his career with 958 yards.
In Baltimore, he’ll work with Derrick Henry, the league’s second-leading rusher last season.
Faulkner made the career jump to the NFL with the Steelers in 2019 after 17 seasons at the college level. He becomes the sixth assistant from last year’s coaching staff to find a job elsewhere.
Among the others, Danny Smith was hired as special teams coordinator for the Buccaneers, Pat Meyer is reportedly joining the Bills as offensive line coach and Gerald Alexander became defensive pass game coordinator/defensive backs coach for the Vikings.
Two others found jobs at the college level. Arthur Smith was hired as offensive coordinator at Ohio State, and Anthony Midget joined Virginia Tech as defensive pass game coordinator/safeties coach.
Quarterbacks coach Tom Arth and inside linebackers coach Scott McCurley were retained by Mike McCarthy.
