The 2026 Pittsburgh Marathon’s weekend of events will be May 1-3, and runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to register before the next price increase set for Thursday.
“The Pittsburgh Marathon has always been about more than the finish line — it’s about bringing people together and creating opportunities for everyone to move,” P3R CEO Troy Schooley said.
“Whether it’s your first mile or your 50th race, Marathon Weekend offers an event, a community and a celebration that meets you where you are.”
Schooley said that from the 26.2-mile marathon to family-friendly kids races, walking divisions and a mile-long celebration for all, Marathon Weekend offers an accessible entry point for participants of every age, pace and ability level.
This year’s marathon is on pace to be the largest in event history, with more than 50,000 participants expected.
Both the marathon and half marathon were recently named by “Runner’s World” among the top spring races to run in 2026, placing Pittsburgh alongside some of the most iconic running destinations in the world.
Also, the kids marathon is the largest youth running event in the country, with more than 11,000 children expected to participate in 2026.
Events over the three-day weekend include the marathon relay (teams of two to five), 4-mile fitness challenge, the 5K (3.1 miles), the champions mile, the toddler trot and the pet walk.
Participants can register and find the event that fits their goals at ThePittsburghMarathon.com.
