As the end of the regular season and the start of the district playoffs inch closer, there was some shuffling of the Top 5 deck this past week.
Four teams lost their spot in the Trib HSSN weekly state rankings while a few others slid but stayed in the safe zone of the Top 5.
McDowell, Upper Dublin, West Catholic and York Country Day School fell out of the state rankings, opening the door for Upper St. Clair, Holy Ghost Prep, Warrior Run and Williamsburg to snag a spot among the state’s elite.
Two teams slipped from the top spot in their classification as Roman Catholic replaced Imhotep Charter in 6A and Hershey flip-flopped with Neumann-Goretti at No. 1 in Class 5A.
The other four teams strengthened their grip on No. 1 as Cathedral Prep in 4A, Mohawk in 3A, Delone Catholic in 2A and Sankofa Freedom Academy in A still enjoy the spoils of a top-ranked team.
