Caretaker accused of stealing from patient
Verona police are seeking assistance in locating a woman they say stole money from a woman she was hired to care for.
Police responded to a report of money stolen from a checking account. They say their investigation determined that Angel Thomas, 31, of Pittsburgh had taken the money without authorization. She was charged with theft and financial exploitation of a care-dependent person.
Thomas is the subject of other warrants for assault and criminal mischief. Police said she is also the subject of a federal warrant for cocaine distribution.
Anyone with information on Thomas’ whereabouts is asked to call Verona police at 412-828-6034.
Dormont restaurant operating with expired liquor license
State police executed a search warrant Thursday and confiscated alcohol from a Dormont restaurant whose liquor license is expired.
Police from the liquor enforcement bureau searched the New Katana Restaurant on West Liberty Avenue after securing a warrant related to the alleged illegal sale of alcohol.
Officers seized 126 liters of liquor and 36 gallons of malt/brewed beverages.
Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board records show the license granted to New Katana Restaurant, owner LDC Properties and manager Shan Gao expired in May 2022.
Port Vue, county police seek man on multiple warrants
Port Vue police are seeking assistance in locating a man wanted on one local and two county arrest warrants.
Police said Brian Steven Gregor, 24, address unknown, is the subject of a local warrant for flight to avoid trial, apprehension or punishment and criminal trespass in connection with a Jan. 17 incident.
Gregor is also wanted by Allegheny County Police for multiple counts of possessing a stolen gun and narcotic violations. He has been a fugitive since late December.
Gregor is known to frequent the Port Vue, Liberty, McKeesport and Elizabeth areas. Police said he also has been known to occasionally travel to Maryland.
