It has been nearly a year since Lainey Wilson and Devlin “Duck” Hodges got engaged at George Jones’ estate, and there’s still not a date set for the big day.

And during a recent interview, Wilson admitted that Hodges has noticed.

“I’ve got a lot to do … I’ve got a lot to do,” the country music star said, according to Whiskey Riff. “I will tell you that. Duck’s like, ‘Are we really getting married?’ I’m like, ‘We are.’ I said, ‘I do, I did, I done, we’re doing it.’ But it’s going good.”

Wilson has been plenty busy as the face of awards shows and even New Year’s Eve shows, so it is understandable that she has been overwhelmed with work.

“It is going to happen, but we don’t have all the details yet,” she said per Whiskey Riff. “I’m starting to think about it more, because honestly, with the tour and everything last year, and also with the holidays this year … we played on Thanksgiving Day for the Macy’s parade, we were with Snoop Dogg on Christmas Day, and then we had the Nashville Bash here for New Year’s Eve.”

Wilson said she has been spending time on Pinterest and has “made a little board.”

While the couple have yet to really get going on the planning, they did have to address a rumor last Summer that they had already gotten hitched.

The duo put out a TikTok video on that one.

“What are you going to tell AI?” Wilson can be heard saying in the background.

“If you going to put out stuff about us, at least make us look good,” Hodges said into the video as she starts to laugh. “We look like (expletive).”

Hodges captioned the video, “Attention to those making AI photos of me and Lainey … Sincerely, The couple who hasn’t had a wedding yet.”

Hodges and Wilson reportedly first began dating in 2021. She has risen to the upper echelon of country music in recent years.

Meanwhile, Hodges is a retired NFL quarterback. He went undrafted out of Samford in 2019, and signed with the Steelers as a free agent. He was with the team through 2020, making several starts. He signed with the Rams in 2021 and also played with the Canadian Football League’s Ottawa Redblacks in 2021 before calling it a career.

He finished his time in the NFL with 1,063 passing yards to go with five touchdowns and eight interceptions.
