Forward Avery Hayes completed a hat trick with an overtime power-play goal and gave the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins a 4-3 win against the rival Hershey Bears at the Giant Center in Hershey on Saturday.
During regulation, Hayes scored another power-play goal as well as a short-handed goal.
Forwards Ville Koivunen and Rutger McGroarty each recorded two assists for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (32-12-2-2) while forward Melvin Fernstrom contributed a goal.
Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 20 saves on 23 shots to improve his record to 18-5-0.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton enters the American Hockey League’s All-Star break with a five-game winning streak.

Goaltender Maxim Pavlenko made 31 saves for the Wheeling Nailers in a 6-0 win against the Cincinnati Cyclones at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.
The result was Pavlenko’s third shutout of the season and improved his record to 10-8-0.
Forward Brayden Edwares and Max Graham each had a goal and an assist for Wheeling (28-12-2-2) while forward Matty De St. Phalle and defenseman Tristan Thompson each contributed two assists.
