Designer purse bash planned by Fun and Freedom Inc.
Fun and Freedom Inc. will host its 12th annual designer purse bash fundraiser from 6 to 9 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Springdale Veterans Association Hall, 1151 Pittsburgh St., Springdale.
Cost is $50 and includes entry into 13 main ticket drawings, dinner, dessert, use of the photo booth and entry into the door prize drawings. There will be side raffles, a silent auction, mystery wristlets and a 50-50.

Vandergrift Library announces partial reopening
Vandergrift Public Library, 128C Washington Ave., has reopened its doors for limited services after undergoing a remodeling project.
Patrons can browse, check out materials, return items and use the public computers in a limited capacity. The children’s and young adult areas remain closed.
Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
Soup cook-off planned by Brackenridge American Legion Auxiliary
Brackenridge American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor its sixth annual soup cook-off Feb. 21 at the post, 845 First Ave.
Bring your best soup in a roaster or stock pot by 12:30 p.m., and your recipe if you wish to share it. Sampling and judging will be from 1 to 2 p.m. by all adults who attend and winners will be announced. Soup will be sold as a fundraiser for the auxiliary, takeout or dine in and prizes will be awarded.
