Fundraisers

• A bingo night to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Laurel Region will be held Feb. 21 at Youngwood Firehall, 104 S. Second St. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and games will start at 6 p.m. There will be a cash bar, concession stand, basket raffle, pull tabs, mystery envelopes and a 50-50. No outside alcohol permitted. Meeting

The Braddock Trail chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet Saturday at the chapter house, 200 S. Church St., Mt. Pleasant. Lunch will be at noon and the meeting will be at 1 p.m. The program will be the DAR Good Citizens Award winners.

Special event

Ligonier Valley Writers is accepting entries for its 36th annual student poetry contest. Students in grades four through 12 who live in Western Pennsylvania are welcome to enter. There are nine categories and cash prizes awarded for first-, second- and third-place awards and best in each age group. There are no entry fees. Submissions must be emailed by March 11.
