Penguins forward Sidney Crosby recorded a pair of secondary assists for Canada in a 5-0 win against Czechia during a preliminary round contest at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan on Thursday.
Crosby’s first assist came on a goal by linemate Mark Stone at 26:40 of the second period. Then at 47:42 of the third period, Crosby collected an assist on a power-play goal by forward Connor McDavid.
Opening the contest as center of the third line, Crosby logged 16:07 of ice time on 22 shifts and had three shots.

Penguins goaltender Arturs Silovs made five saves on six shots in 20 minutes of ice time for Latvia in a 5-1 loss to the United States at the Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena.
Silovs was not the goaltender of record as he replaced starting goaltender Elvis Merzlikins to open the third period.
Latvia’s next game is against Germany on Saturday, 6:10 p.m.
