Trib HSSN No. 2 Patrick Bulger knocked off No. 1 Javeon Chambers of Highlands, 10-3, in the 114-pound finals to lead Derry at WPIAL Class 2A Eastern Section tournament Saturday at Greensburg Salem.

The Trojans won eight of the 13 weight classes and sent 11 wrestlers through to the WPIAL tournament with top-six finishes.

No. 5 Michael McNeal of Derry defeated No. 2 Jacob Stewart of Burrell, 4-3, in the 139-pound final. Other Derry champs were top-ranked Mason Keesecker (107), Mason Horwat (172) and Brady Brown (189) as well as Camden Olson (133), Ewan Olson (160) and Ty Blasko (215).

Burrell led the section with 12 WPIAL qualifiers, including champs top-ranked Cam Baker (127) and Julian Bertucci (145). Julian Bertucci defeated No. 2 William McNeal of Derry, 2-1 in the second tiebreaker, in the finals.

Other section champs were top-ranked Preston Bubash (121) and Lucas Boyer (152) of Elizabeth Forward and Greensburg Salem heavyweight David Peters.

Brown, Horwat, Baker and Bertucci are three-time section champs. Ewan Olson is a two-time champ.

Class 3A Northern – North Allegheny crowned four champs and Kiski Area sent a section-high 11 wrestlers through to the WPIAL tournament.

Top-ranked heavyweight Bradyn McConneha led the way for the Tigers, who also got first-place finishes from Evan Schomburg (121), Gus Stedeford (133) and Griffen Reid (152). For Kiski Area, top-ranked Mario Hutcherson and Cooper Roscosky (215) took titles.

Top-ranked Santino Sloboda (127) of Butler became a four-time section champ. Schomburg and Roscosky are three-time champs.

Other section champs were Sutton Stoner (160) of Butler, Riley Smith (107) and Zach Hill (145) of Seneca Valley and Pine-Richland’s Bennett Ferraro (114), Mars’ Olympic Serrao (139) and North Hills’ Carter Morvay (172).

Class 3A Southern – A pair of Trib HSSN No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchups highlighted the section finals, with the top-ranked wrestler winning both showdowns. At 107, Canon-McMillan’s Lee Dreshman decisioned West Allegheny’s Michael Johnson, 7-1. At 133, Moon’s Cael Yanek defeated Canon-McMillan’s Jon Emma, 9-6 in the second tiebreaker.

The Big Macs led the way with four champs and had 11 WPIAL qualifiers. Gionno Gardner (121), Collier Hartman (139) and Bryce Collins (189) also took titles. Trinity had a section-best 12 WPIAL qualifiers, including champs Dom Canali (127) and Edrick Williams (285).

Other section champs were Peters Township’s Nicholas McGarrity (114), Montour’s Jacob Chacon (145), West Allegheny’s Logan Slovick (152), Mt. Lebanon’s Cole Gibbons (160), Moon’s Liam Costa (172) and Waynesburg’s Roan Tustin (215).

McGarrity and Canali became three-time champs.

Class 2A Southern – McGuffey led the way with four section champs at Burgettstown, highlighted by top-ranked Lucas Barr at 133 pounds. Clayton Ealy (127), Emmett Wolfe (145) and Aaron Supler (172) also took titles for the Highlanders, who sent nine wrestlers through to the WPIAL tournament. Barr became a three-time section champ.

Burgettstown led the section with 10 WPIAL qualifiers, including champ Gage Bradley (121).

Bentworth crowned three champs: top-ranked Drake McClure (139) and Owen Ivcic (160) as well as Bobby Lemley (114). Other section champs were Malachi Peak (189) and Noah Layhue (215) of Beth-Center, Brayden Hanning (107) of Jefferson-Morgan and top-ranked Jonah Erdely (152) of Frazier and Colin Whyte (285) of West Greene.

Erdely is a three-time section champ.

Class 2A Northern – Top-ranked 215-pounder Kolton Carlson was one of five champs and 11 WPIAL qualifiers for Laurel in the tournament at Keystone Oaks. Jack Kondrasuk (114), Archer Brua (139), Domenic Willis (172) and Casey Wilson (285) also finished first for the Spartans.

Avonworth’s Auston Kosanovic won at 127 pounds to become a four-time section champion.

Quaker Valley crowned three champs: Bruce Anderchak (121), Matt Danna (160) and Trey Dunlap (189). Anderchak and Danna are three-time section champs.

Other section champs were Avonworth’s Logan Krul (152), Central Valley’s Angelo Boni (107) and Ethan Bosco (145) and Keystone Oaks’ Jeremy Wagner (133).
