Stabbing in Market Square
Pittsburgh police are investigating after a man was found stabbed late Saturday in Market Square in Downtown.
Public Safety officials posted to X that the victim was transported in critical condition from the 100 block of Forbes Avenue. He has since been upgraded to stable.
Police are looking for two suspects who fled the area in a dark-colored SUV.
Public Safety officials said there was no further information available.
Verona police seeking suspect
Verona police are searching for a fugitive who fled after a traffic stop Saturday.
Officers said Joseph Fisher of Pittsburgh was stopped at GetGo and provided a false identity before fleeing.
Police confirmed his true identity and learned he’s been on the run since Jan. 14. He escaped from Renewal corrections center where he was sentenced after a robbery conviction, police said.
Fisher now faces new charges for flight to avoid apprehension, escape and providing false ID to law enforcement.

Fire in Wilkinsburg
No injuries were reported after a fire at a Wilkinsburg apartment building Saturday.
Emergency crews were called at about 6 p.m. to the Douglas Plaza Apartments along Laketon Road, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Multiple people were evacuated and the building appeared to suffer damage to the exterior.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
