Forward Ville Koivunen had a goal and an assist for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Cleveland Monsters at Mohegan Arena in Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Defenseman Emil Pieniniemi and forward Rutger McGroarty each scored goals for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (32-13-3-2). For Pieininiemi, it was his first career goal at the American Hockey League level.

Goaltender Sergei Murashov made 14 saves on 15 shots over 32:49 of ice time as his record slipped to 18-6-1. Murashov replaced starter Joel Blomqvist at 9:56 of the second period. In 29:56 of ice time, Blomqvist stopped 13 of 16 shots.

The Wheeling Nailers lost, 3-2, to the Reading Royals in a game that required a 14-round shootout to determine at WesBanco Arena in Wheeling, W.Va.

Forwards Zach Urdahl and Matty De St. Phalle scored the only shootout goals for Wheeling (30-13-2-3).

Goaltender Taylor Gauthier allowed three goals on 14 shootout attempts as his record fell to 9-5-4. In regulation and overtime, Gauthier made 19 saves on 21 shots.

Defenseman Tristan Thompson recorded two assists for Wheeling while defenseman Scooter Brickey and forward Mike Posma each contributed regulation goals.
