A sanitary sewer realignment is on tap for Harrison.
Commissioners have been eyeing the work along Oak Manor Drive as a “proactive investment in critical utility infrastructure,” Township Manager Amy Rockwell said.
The work is expected to take up to 15 weeks.
Harrison will get about $280,000 from the state to pay for the project. The township is among several municipalities to be awarded grants through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Small Water and Sewer Program.
Rockwell said the money will be used to move part of the township-owned sanitary sewer out of the state-owned roadway. The grant will pay for engineering, design, permits and construction.
The project will be put out to bid once the grant contracts and funding are secured, she said.
“This supports the township’s ongoing efforts to improve system resiliency and service reliability for residents,” she said.
