This follows the resignation of Woodland Hills School Board President Terri Lawson who is suspected of misusing nearly $10,000 in unauthorized purchases on a Rankin Borough credit card. Pittsburgh Deer Management program took 142 deer this season

Pittsburgh Public Safety closed the book on another year of archery-controlled deer management.

In total, 142 deer were harvested during the 2025-2026 season. Archery hunts took place in Frick, Riverview, Schenley, Highland, Emerald View, Hays Woods, McKinley, and Southside Parks as well as Hazelwood and Seldom Seen Greenways.

Sixty-three of those deer were donated to local food banks, which provided 2,520 pounds of venison and 10,080 meals to residents.

The program’s pilot phase began in September 2023. The program, a partnership with the USDA, initially focused on Frick and Riverview parks before expanding to other city locations in 2024.
