Competing in the “Boro Bubble,” Norwin stuck a pin in a school record.
The indoor distance medley relay squad ran to a time of 12 minutes, 26.58 seconds, beating the previous mark by 30 seconds.
Ransom Gaydos won the 3,200-meter run in 9:19.59 at TSTCA Meet No. 4, while Tyler Beck won the 400 (52.39) and took second in the 200-meter dash (23.32 seconds), and Alex Irwin finished second in the pole vault (14 feet, 6 inches).
For the girls, Claire Sherman won the pole vault (10-0) and Isabella Farrah took second (9-0), Addison Farrah (10:39.16) and Anna Dansak (10:44.23) were 2-3 in the 3,000 meters, Alex Oestreich took second in the long jump (15-6.5) and third in the triple jump (34-6), and Mya McCabe was third in the 200 (26.22) and 60 (8.18).
The Norwin girls won the meet with 93.5 points. The boys finished second with 50.
Mat finish
Norwin wrestling had a strong showing at the WPIAL Class 3A Eastern Section Tournament.
The Knights, who finished second to Franklin Regional in the WPIAL and PIAA team tournaments, crowned five section champions.
Winners were Luca Butera (107 pounds), Landon Sidun (121), Coleton Klipa (127), Dom Butera (133) and Brooks Blasko (139).
It was Sidun’s second title.
The Knights had three runners-up: Nathan Klingensmith (145), Jack White (160) and Tanner Shaffer (189).

Seton Hill: The Griffins opened the season with a 19-hit, 18-run output in Wingate, N.C.
Seton Hill launched four home runs, four doubles and a triple in an 18-11 slugfest against Findlay.
Senior Jack Whalen went 4 for 6 with a double, triple and two RBIs for the Griffins, who are ranked No. 20 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division II Preseason Poll. The Griffins are No. 2 in the NCBWA Atlantic Region Preseason Poll.
Whalen added four hits in a 12-2 win and two-game sweep of Findlay.
Men’s volleyball
Chatham: Junior 6-foot-6 hitter Tim McCabe posted a career-high 19 kills and 10 digs as the Cougars rallied for a 3-2 victory over Geneva.
