What matters most to American citizens ? Slings and arrows about President Trump’s character or tangible results that make their lives safer and better ?
The writer of the letter “Trump acts while Dems do nothing” (Feb. 13, TribLive) makes a solid case for results. He lists 14 of Trump’s accomplishments in his first year. Almost all are large-impact actions that make life safer and better for Americans.
Contrast this with Trib columnists Joseph Sabino Mistick and S.E. Cupp who almost weekly rip Trump from stem to stern for his character and actions. They have company.
The letter notes that the Media Research Center’s survey covering Trump’s first year in office shows the AP has an over 90% negative reporting record on Trump. Bias?
As the nation’s top leader, Trump should often think before he makes many of his statements. It would make him a better leader. But on the high-impact issues that will make most Americans’ lives safer and better, the writer’s list of Trump’s accomplishments is miles ahead of the continuous sticks and stones cast by much of the press.
Had they been elected, candidates Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have neither the background nor the drive to accomplish anything close to what Trump has achieved in just one year.
