INDIANAPOLIS — Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan is willing to run it back with Aaron Rodgers.

Khan told reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine on Tuesday morning that he would be interested in having the 42-year-old, four-time MVP quarterbacking the Steelers in 2026.

“We’d certainly welcome Aaron (Rodgers) back,” Khan said. “We had a great experience with him (in 2025).”

Khan said there is no deadline for Rodgers to make a decision on if he wants to return, but that “I don’t see this going like it did last year.”

A future Hall of Famer, Rodgers indicated this past season was likely his last after signing a one-year deal with the Steelers in June. But his stance on retirement seemed to soften as he and the team played well in stretches late into the year.

Coach Mike Tomlin’s resignation seemed likely to shut the door on his return, but then the Steelers hired Mike McCarthy, his former coach in Green Bay.

“He’s going through his normal offseason routine,” McCarthy said of Rodgers last week on WTLX-FM in Madison, Wisc. “He’s been doing some skiing of late, which I didn’t realize he was into that. I don’t want to put out his personal business. He’s doing what he’s supposed to be doing.”

Teams can sign free agents beginning March 11.

Khan and other Steelers officials are in Indianapolis this week interviewing draft prospects and watching drills at Lucas Oil Stadium.
