BRADENTON, Fla. — The Pittsburgh Pirates announced the staff assignments for their minor league affiliates, including multiple managerial changes.
At Triple-A Indianapolis, Eric Patterson has been promoted from bench coach to manager. He replaces Chris Truby, who was elevated to infield coach on the major league staff. The Indians also added Nasusel Cabrera as pitching coach alongside Andy Benes, replacing Cibney Bello, who is now the Pirates’ assistant pitching coach.
At Double-A Altoona, manager Andy Fox returns but has a new hitting coach in Justin Orton, who moves from Bradenton to the Curve to replace Casey Harms.
At High-A Greensboro, Jose Mosquera was promoted from the Dominican Summer League team to replace Blake Butler as manager. He has new hitting coaches in Jonathan Roof and Quentin Brown, who spent last season at High-A Bradenton. Rafael Chaves replaces Matt Myers as pitching coach.
At Low-A Bradenton, Gera Alvarez is the new manager. He replaces Jim Horner, who is now the manager at the Florida Complex League. Jon Prieto and Ryan Powers are the new hitting coaches, and Matt Ford replaces Renny Duarte as pitching coach.
