Armstrong County has a real opportunity in front of it — and we cannot afford to let it slip away.
The Armstrong County commissioners must take decisive action to support local manufacturing by approving Keystone Opportunity Zone (KOZ) status for a local manufacturer wanting to move forward with its proposed development. The company has publicly discussed plans for a multimillion-dollar facility — the kind of investment that brings jobs, tax base growth and renewed economic energy to our region and the Ford City brownfield specifically.
Communities across Pennsylvania are competing aggressively for projects like this. If we hesitate, those opportunities will simply go elsewhere.
Supporting KOZ and advancing this project is not about politics — it’s about jobs, families and the future of Armstrong County. Leadership now will determine whether we grow or continue to watch opportunity pass us by.
