A woman’s death in December that Pittsburgh police deemed “suspicious” has been ruled a homicide.
The Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office late Friday said Michelle Sturdivant was killed as a result of “homicidal violence with multiple blunt force injuries and extensive burns.”
First responders found the Pittsburgh woman, 44, unconscious and not breathing in a home in the 100 block of Watson Boulevard in the city’s Perry North neighborhood just after 2 a.m. Dec. 28, authorities said.
Medics pronounced her dead at the scene.
Pittsburgh police in January said Sturdivant’s death was being investigated as a homicide. The bureau declined comment Saturday.
“It is an active and ongoing investigation,” police spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.
No arrests have been made.
