Belle Vernon senior Elijah Brown has lost one match this season.

That was to DuBois sophomore Kendahl Hoare, 10-8, on Dec. 6, 2025, at the Trinity Duals.

Brown (41-1) will get a chance to avenge that loss Saturday afternoon at the PIAA Class 3A West Regional at Canon-McMillan.

The bout will highlight the finals. Both are looking for their second West Regional title. Brown won at 215 pounds and Hoare at 189.

Brown advanced to the semifinals by making quick work of Penn-Trafford senior Cael Ott with a 15-0 technical fall in 1:10.

Hoare (39-3) defeated Kiski Area senior Cooper Roscosky, 2-1, in overtime when Roscosky was penalized for a clasp in the ultimate tiebreaker period.

Hoare lost to Roscosky, 13-5, at the Kiski Duals.

The finals are scheduled for 3 p.m.

Canon-McMillan leads in the team standings with 114 points. Freshman Lee Dreshman (107) and senior Collier Hartman (139) are in the finals while five others have punched their ticket to the PIAA Class 3A championships March 5-7 at the Giant Center in Hershey.

Dreshman faces Moon junior Bryce Thomas in the finals while Hartman tangles with Cranberry senior Dalton Wenner.

Other all-WPIAL finals are at 127 pounds where Butler senior Santino Sloboda faces Trinity senior Dom Canali, at 189 between Kiski Area sophomore Mario Hutcherson and Latrobe junior Hunter Snyder, and at 285 where West Allegheny senior Cam Danna battles North Allegheny senior Brady McConneha in a WPIAL championships rematch.

Altoona senior Braiden Weaver (133) and Connellsville junior Kai Vielma (145) are looking for their second West Regional titles.

The top five finishers in each weight class advance to the state tournament.
