The Liberty Bridge reopened early Sunday morning following a three-vehicle fatal crash overnight.
According to Pittsburgh Police, officers responded to the crash just before 1 a.m.
One of the three vehicles was engulfed in flames with three people pinned inside, police said. Officers put out the fire and removed a man and a woman.
The third passenger, a woman, died at the scene. Police did not release her name.
A man in the second vehicle was checked by paramedics at the scene and did not need to be taken to a hospital, police said.
An adult in the third vehicle was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Police did not say if that was a man or a woman.
According to PennDOT, the Liberty Bridge was closed in both directions, and the inbound Liberty Tunnel was also closed.
The crash was cleared and the bridge and tunnel reopened around 6 a.m., PennDOT said.
