How incredible and refreshing it was to witness athletic greatness (unmatched physical and cognitive supremacy) as displayed by the United States’ women’s and men’s recent gold medal-winning teams in ice hockey at the 2026 winter Olympics. With class and dignity, these physically and cognitively superior athletes made America proud. It is because of the culture that ice hockey promotes and supports. This culture — that every single ice hockey player lives in and grows up in from a young age — is what makes these athletes special and worth watching.
In stark contrast to the ice hockey culture is the culture of football. The football culture is embarrassing, shameful and disgusting, and anyone who participates in the culture (every single current and former player and coach) should be embarrassed and ashamed.
Just like Jim Jones, David Koresh and Adolf Hitler (they were leaders of their respective “cults”), those whose support, teach, coach and promote football — at any age level — should be banned from doing so. Teaching them that playing this sport makes them the greatest and most incredibly special human who ever lived is patently wrong and false. It is a total lie. But most of our society doesn’t realize this. Let’s set our standards higher.
