Authorities in Washington County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man found dead on Interstate 70 Sunday morning.
According to the Washington County Coroner’s office, a truck driver called 911 shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday and reported that he saw what appeared to be a person lying on the eastbound highway about 200 feet from the Chestnut Street onramp in North Franklin.
The man appeared to have been hit multiple times by multiple vehicles, the corner said.
“It is presumed, but not confirmed, that he had been a pedestrian,” a report from the coroner’s office said.
State police were investigating.
Anyone with information, particularly about the identity of the man, is asked to contact state police at 724-223-5200 or the Washington County Coroner’s office at 724-228-6785.
