Chartiers Valley School District will honor its best student-athletes with a hall of fame in the near future.

The district is moving forward with creating an athletic hall of fame, and is forming a committee to develop and implement the plan.

“There is a rich history of athletics at Chartiers Valley with a longstanding tradition and pride,” said Athletic Director Zack Hayward. “This would be a great way to help acknowledge those that have laid the foundation for our district and continue to represent our district.”

Hayward said the district is looking at having a committee that would help identify people qualified for the hall of fame and review submissions or nominations sent each year.

Hayward hopes to have the hall of fame up and running for the upcoming school year, as the district completes its planned gymnasium project.

The goal for the hall of fame, Hayward said, is to acknowledge those that helped build the legacy of Chartiers Valley athletics and continue to represent the district.

“This is a great way to honor individuals, teams, coaches, administrators that have worn the red, white and blue and the meaning of being a colt,” Hayward said.
