The beautification of North Avenue on the North Side has caused the intersection at Sandusky Street to become a significant obstacle for cancer patients and the handicapped attempting to enter valet parking to Allegheny General Hospital. The intersection has been a one-lane, one-way mess for months, causing patients to sit in a queue sometimes for a half-hour or more, attempting to get to their appointments. No traffic cops, no one directing traffic, all to beautify this intersection for three days in April.
Does anyone at AHN or the city care about these most vulnerable patients, waiting to see oncologists, radiologists or infusion care? I am one of these patients.
