More than 40 local artists, makers and bakers are expected to participate in the Millvale Spring Market on April 25.
The market, sponsored for a second year by the Millvale Community Development Corp., will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking will be free.
“We know it’s NFL Draft weekend,” said Dee Schlotter with Millvale Community Development’s Small Business Committee. “We talked to their marketing team to be added to their list of fun things near Downtown that people can do if they want to get away from the draft.”
The participants will be stationed throughout Millvale’s sidewalks, parklet and businesses.
Vendors will include artwork, jewelry, vintage clothing, books, home decor, indoor plants, soaps, clothing, cupcakes, artisan cheesecakes and coffees. A DJ from Attic Records will be spinning records all day in the Grant Avenue Pocket Park.
Participating businesses include three breweries with food, Grist House, Burghers and Strange Roots; two bars, Double L and Cousins; Vintage 416 and b-Sides vintage clothing; and Abeille Voyante Tea Co., Yetter’s Candies, Kyle’s Cheesecakes, Attic Records, Lemon Tree Coffee Co., Iron Born Pizza, Fox’s Pizza, McWalker Yarn Co., Millvale Market with Sprezzatura foods, and Steel City Salt.
Vendors will be set up outside in GAP Park, Burghers Brewing Co. and First National Bank and inside at Lemon Tree Coffee and Millvale Community Library.
Business specials will include pay-what-you-can haircuts at 7th Sense Hair Salon; ready-made Italian specialties from Millvale Market/Sprezzatura; candy specials at Yetter’s; food and drink specials at Double L, Burghers, Fox’s Pizza, Lemon Tree Coffee, Steel City Salt and Abeille Voyante Tea.
“Enjoy the artists, bakers, retailers and great music,” Schlotter said.
A summer market, held in July last year, will not be held this year, she said. A Fall Fright Night may be held in October, with an event for Small Business Saturday, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, in November, Schlotter said.
