No injuries reported in Hempfield fire
No one was reported hurt in a house fire in Hempfield on Monday night, according to TribLive news partner WTAE.
Three adults and two dogs safely escaped the blaze on Baughman Avenue, just outside Jeannette. The fire was reported around 9 p.m.
Deputy Fire Chief Ben Ross told the news station the house had moderate damage from the flames.
Officials shut down Duquesne hookah lounge
A Duquesne hookah lounge was shut down by state liquor control enforcement and Allegheny County health officials after liquor, DJ equipment, tables, bar stools and $11 were seized.
In a news release issued Monday, authorities said a search warrant was served Thursday at Paradise Island Hookah Lounge on Duquesne Boulevard.
The health department said the lounge was operating without a permit and violated numerous food safety measures and building requirements.
I-70 westbound work planned in Rostraver
One lane of Interstate 70 westbound will be closed Tuesday in Rostraver, according to PennDOT.
The lane closure will take place from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. between Exit 44 for Arnold City and Exit 49 for Smithton. PennDOT officials said crews from Pennline will be repairing guide rail.
The work is part of a $120.6 million project to reconstruct the highway at its interchange with Route 51.
Homeowner fatally shoots intruder in Somerset Township break-in, police say
Pennsylvania State Police in Somerset County are investigating a shooting during a break-in.
Trooper Steve Limani said a resident on Locust Street in Somerset Township reported being awoken around 2 a.m. Monday by a loud noise in his kitchen and a man demanding to come inside. The man broke a window and started to get inside the house when the resident fired a gun, police said.
The intruder was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Police reported seeing a broken kitchen window.

It appears the resident shot the intruder in self-defense, but Limani said troopers are continuing to investigate.
