Garland scored seven points in the second quarter after Franklin Regional (7-9, 4-4) had trimmed the lead to 20-15. -- Shaler 66, Butler 44 – Class AAAA No. 1 Shaler (14-2, 7-1) cruised past Butler (3-12, 1-7) in Section 3. Shannon Powell (16), Val McQuade (14) and Ashley Bomachowski all scored in double figures for the Titans. Caitlin Baxter scored 15 for Butler, while Jasmine Bailey chipped in 12. -- Bethel Park 63, Montour 32 – Megan Marecic scored 17 points, and Candace Martino added 10 to lead the Class AAAA No. 4 Black Hawks (13-2) to a nonsection win over Montour. New Castle 52, Seneca Valley 41 – LaShauna Brothers scored the 1,000th point of her career and had a game-high 18 to lead the second-ranked Red Hurricanes (11-2, 7-0 Section 2-AAA) to a nonsection win. Ja'Nia McPhatter added 12 points. Alyssa Miller made four 3-pointers and led Seneca Valley (5-9, 1-5 Section 3-AAAA) with 12 points. -- Chartiers Valley 46, Thomas Jefferson 42 – Lexy Herron scored 17 points to lead Class AAA No. 4 Chartiers Valley (12-3) past host Thomas Jefferson (9-4). Sophomore Mariah Wells chipped in 12 points for the Colts, who have won seven straight contests. -- Avonworth 60, South Side Beaver 23 – Lauren Mayernik recorded her 15th consecutive double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds to lead Class AA No. 4 Avonworth (14-1, 7-0) over South Side Beaver. Catherine Costa chipped in for the Antelopes with 12 points. Brittany Dhayer led South Side Beaver (5-9, 2-5) with 11 points. -- Uniontown 59, Mt. Pleasant 53 – Danasha Harris' 20 points led the Red Raiders (10-3, 4-2) to an upset of Class AAA No. 3 ranked Mt. Pleasant (11-3, 6-2) in Section 3 action. Nicole Malara led the Vikings with 20 points, and reached the 1,000 point milestone, finishing the game with 1,012. -- Seton-La Salle 59, South Fayette 47 – Freshman Naje Gibson led Class AA No. 1 Seton-La Salle (14-2) over South Fayette (7-5) in a nonsection game. Erika Ford led the Lady Lions with 16 points. -- Deer Lakes 74, Apollo-Ridge 35 – Rebecca Babincak led the Lancers, ranked No. 3 in Class AA, with 17 points. Shannon Dugan scored 16 points, and Candace Scanga contributed 13 for Deer Lakes (13-1, 7-1). Sarah Bonelli had a team-high 12 points for Apollo-Ridge (2-12, 1-6). -- Monessen 54, California 32 – Chelsea Szakal scored a game-high 16 points to lead the Class A No. 3 Greyhounds to a Section 4-A win.
