Just days after the Pittsburgh Steelers acquired a new No. 2 wide receiver, the most recent player to hold that position joined a new team.
Calvin Austin III is signing with the New York Giants, according to an ESPN report.
The free agent wideout reportedly agreed to a one-year deal for up to $4.5 million with incentives Thursday.
Austin had 31 catches for 372 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Steelers.
A fourth-round pick (138th overall) of the Steelers out of Memphis in 2022, Austin had 84 catches for 1,100 yards and 10 total touchdowns in three seasons. Austin missed his rookie season with an injury.
The Steelers brought in receiver Michael Pittman Jr. to play alongside No. 1 receiver DK Metcalf earlier this week.
