The Heyward brothers have been split up.

Former Steelers tight end/fullback Connor Heyward agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million maximum value deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported Thursday.

According to Rapoport’s post on X, the Steelers were interested in keeping Heyward, but new Raiders coach Klint Kubiak identified him as a good fit at fullback for his offense.

Heyward, the younger brother of All-Pro defensive lineman Cameron Heyward, was the Steelers’ sixth-round pick out of Michigan State in 2022. In four years with the team, he played 68 games, catching 44 passes for 379 yards and a touchdown.

Last season, he caught three passes for 21 yards and a score but played a more prominent role as the team’s “Tush Push” quarterback, rushing 15 times for 43 yards and two touchdowns.

Heyward posted a simple message on his X account after the transaction was announced: “Thank you Pittsburgh.”
