Carlo DeSalvo and Dominic Miller also homered and Dominic Filippone went 4 for 5 with three doubles and three RBIs for the Red Hurricanes (1-0). Brady Hull homered and drove in four and Brett Feldman doubled and tripled for Eden Christian (0-1).
Avella 4, Washington 0 – Bryce Wright struck out seven in five two-hits innings and Cam Ullom struck out three and gave up one hit in two innings to lead Avella (1-0) to a nonsection shutout win. Ellwood City 5, Chartiers-Houston 1 – Aaron Lake singled and doubled to back winning pitcher Nate Kennedy for Ellwood City (1-0). Aaron Walsh doubled for Chartiers-Houston (0-1).
Franklin Regional 10, Fox Chapel 4 – Anthony Mitchell went 4 for 5 with a double and three RBIs, Liam Bernadowski singled, doubled and drove in a run and Luke Williams singled, doubled and plated a pair for Franklin Regional (1-0) in a nonsection win.
