Free-agent punter Corliss Waitman is signing with the San Francisco 49ers, ending his latest stint with the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to NFL Network.
Waitman’s moves comes a few days after the Steelers elected to bring back veteran punter Cameron Johnston, who agreed to a one-year contract earlier this week. Johnston had started the 2024 season as the Steelers’ punter before suffering a season-ending knee injury.
The Steelers replaced Johnston with Waitman, who handled punting duties in 23 games over the past two seasons.
Waitman made his NFL debut in two games with the Steelers in 2021. He spent the 2022 season punting for the Denver Broncos.
