Two-time PIAA Class 3A 215-pound champion Elijah Brown was the only WPIAL wrestler named to the Pennsylvania team for the 52nd annual Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic.

The Pennsylvania squad will tangle with a talented United States squad at 6 p.m. March 28 at Peters Township’s AHN Arena.

A team of WPIAL all-stars will face the Oklahoma all-stars at 4:15 p.m., and the Pennsylvania girls team will meet the Oklahoma all-star girls at 3 p.m.

The Pennsylvania squad features nine PIAA champions — Will Detar (127 pounds), Keanu Dillard (133), Camden Baum (139), Dalton Wenner (139), Brandt Harer (145), Gage Wentzel (172), Adam Waters (189), Brown (215) and Dean Bechtold (285).

The WPIAL squad is filled with district champions: Burrell’s Cam Baker and Juliam Bertucci, McGuffey’s Lucas Barr, Frazier’s Jonah Erdely, Butler’s Santino Sloboda, Canon-McMillan’s Collier Hartman, Mt. Lebanon’s Cole Gibbons, Thomas Jefferson’s Zach LaBryer and Kiski Area’s Cooper Roscosky (2024).

WPIAL girls named to the Pennsylvania squad were Kiski Area senior Ava Golding and Mt. Lebanon senior Paige Jox.

Oklahoma’s squads have not been finalized.
