Livvy Dunne, girlfriend of Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes, is heading to the beach to star in the Fox reboot of the TV series “Baywatch.”

The 23-year-old former Louisiana State University gymnast, social media influencer and Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue cover model is taking on her first acting role with the new show.

Deadline reported on March 12 that Dunne will portray Grace, a “highly enthusiastic junior lifeguard,” and is one of several Internet personalities who have been tapped for “Baywatch.” Her co-stars will include Shay Mitchell, Stephen Amell, Brooks Nader and Noah Beck.

Dunne is a highly popular social media star with 5.2 million followers on Instagram and 7.9 million followers on TikTok.

On Friday, Dunne posted several photos of herself prepping for the role in Venice Beach, Calif., on Instagram with the caption “I’m not a lifeguard, but I play one on TV.”

The original “Baywatch” series ran from 1989-2001 and was at one point the most-watched series in the world. It featured stars such as David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson in its revolving-door ensemble cast. The show followed lifeguards working at Southern California beaches. There was also a 2017 “Baywatch” film that starred Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron.

The new series will premiere with Fox’s 2026-27 season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Amidst celebrating her new role, Dunne still found time to support Skenes this weekend as he and the United States team continued their run in the World Baseball Classic. After Sunday’s 2-1 semifinals win over the Dominican Republic, she captioned an Instagram story with “bigggg USA dub.”
