The Pittsburgh Pirates made another round of cuts on Tuesday morning, with left-handed reliever Evan Sisk losing out on a spot in the bullpen.

Sisk was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis and right-handers Beau Burrows, Michael Darrell-Hicks and Noah Davis and catcher Shawn Ross were reassigned to minor league camp.

There are now 39 players (38 active) in big league camp.

Acquired from the Kansas City Royals in the Bailey Falter trade last July, Sisk went 1-1 with a 4.38 ERA and 1.30 WHIP with 14 strikeouts and five walks in 12 1/3 innings over 14 appearances with the Pirates.

Sisk started strong this spring, with four consecutive scoreless appearances before giving up runs in each of his last two outings to post a 3.00 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in six innings.

Davis made two starts this spring but gave up three-run home runs in each. The 28-year-old was 0-2 with a 7.80 ERA and 1.24 WHIP with 12 strikeouts against two walks but hit five batters and gave up five homers in 13 2/3 innings over four outings.
