The West Virginia men’s basketball team will extend its season as part of the second annual College Basketball Crown tournament.

The Mountaineers (18-4) will play Stanford (20-12) at 8 p.m. April 2, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Other teams competing include Baylor, Colorado, Creighton, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Rutgers.

“We are pleased to be able to continue our season by participating in the second College Basketball Crown in Las Vegas,” WVU coach Ross Hodge said in a statement.

“Everything I’ve heard about the inaugural tournament last year is that it’s a tremendous event and first-class experience for the teams and their fans. We have a wonderful group of guys on and off the court, and the Crown provides us a special opportunity to continue our season.”

The games will played at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena and T-Mobile Arena from April 1-5.

The Crown is a single-elimination, eight-team competition with postseason matchups from the nation’s biggest basketball conferences. An NIL prize pool of $500,000 will be awarded.

Nebraska won last season’s Crown title.

Games will air on FOX Sports and FS1.
