Whether you’re running to or running from next month’s NFL Draft, there’s now a way to make it official.

P3R, the organizer behind the Pittsburgh Marathon, has just announced the PicksBURGH Draft Day 5K route. The one-time event will trace a long arc through the heart of draft festivities from the North Shore to Downtown.

The 5K begins at 8 a.m. on April 25, the final day of draft events in Pittsburgh.

“With thousands of visitors coming to Pittsburgh for Draft week, we wanted to create an experience that allows people to explore the city on foot,” Troy Schooley, P3R CEO, said in a release. “Whether you run or walk, the PicksBURGH Draft Day 5K is a fun way to experience the excitement and celebrate a special moment for Pittsburgh.”

The route will begin across from PNC Park and the soon-to-be-completed entertainment plaza that the Pirates purchased land for in 2024. From there, participants will pass near the Andy Warhol Museum, double back along a stretch of River Avenue and cross the 16th St. Bridge. The route concludes with a straight stretch down Penn Avenue toward Point State Park.

Participants will receive a shirt and a finisher medal shaped like a football helmet for completion. There will be awards for the top three finishers each across the male, female and nonbinary categories.

Registration starting at $44.99 is now open to entrants of all ages.

P3R organizes up to 20 events per year, including corporate events and youth-focused programming. The next marathon takes place the weekend following the Draft Day 5K.
