Even though I’ve been a constant critic of President Trump, I support his attack on Iran. For decades, Iran has been the “cancer” of the Middle East. They’ve been the funder and catalyst for terrorist groups such as Hamas in the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen.

On the internet, I found 45 attacks by Iran that caused American deaths, including the 1979 hostage-taking of 66 Americans, the 1983 bombing that killed 241 Marines in Beirut, the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole that killed 17 Americans and the killing of U.S. forces in Iraq and Syria in 2022.

Regarding their nuclear aspirations, they negotiate and stall for time. They refuse to allow U.N. nuclear inspectors to verify their claim of wanting only nuclear energy, not nuclear bombs. They never negotiate in good faith.

President Obama tried to placate them with a payoff of $400 million, the return of four imprisoned Americans and the promise of not pursuing nuclear weapons. What a joke!

While I believe Trump should have obtained congressional approval, it was refreshing to finally see an American president act decisively against the Iranian menace that would never cease if not acted upon.
