As spring returns with its promise of renewal, March 20 marks MeatOut 2026 — a chance to “turn over a new leaf” by trying plant-based eating for just one day. Since 1985, MeatOut has encouraged thousands to discover healthier, more compassionate choices by taking the meat out of their diets and off their menus.

Going meat-free for a single day may seem simple, but it can open the door to lasting change. Plant-based meals are linked to lower risks of heart disease, diabetes and certain cancers, while also shrinking our environmental impact and sparing animals from suffering. With today’s wide variety of tasty plant-based foods, taking the vegan challenge — even for a day — has never been easier.

Today, take that first step toward a healthier, kinder world. Try MeatOut for the day — and invite friends or family to a plant-based potluck or dinner to celebrate the season together. Find out more at MeatOut.org.
