Three games into their USL Championship title defense, the Pittsburgh Riverhounds could use some work on their defense.
Russell Cicerone, MD Myers and Evan Conway scored to lead the Tampa Bay Rowdies to a 3-0 victory Saturday night in Florida.
The Hounds (1-2) have allowed seven goals in three games.
Cicerone, a former Riverhounds forward, gave Tampa Bay (2-0) the lead for good with a highlight-reel goal in the 47th minute. Marco Micaletto moved up the right wing and sent a long, curling cross that Cicerone headed inside the far post.
Tampa Bay essentially put the game away in the 77th minute when Cicerone led a fast-break counterattack, sending a pass ahead to Myers, who scored from the right side of the box.
Conway tacked on a third goal in the 94th minute.
The Riverhounds will be back in action Wednesday with a US Open Cup first-round matchup against Steel City FC at 7 p.m. at Highmark Stadium.
